Miser - Taccagno


How possibly a miser can you become? A 5% rebate? Five per cent?

Note: "miser" is a false friend. While having certainly to do with money, the very similar adjective "misero" in Italian simply means "poor" (both in a monetary and "metaphysical" meaning).

Quanto taccagni si puo' umanamente diventare? Uno sconto del 5%? Cinque per cento?

Nota: "miser" e' un false friend. Anche se ha sempre a che fare con i soldi, non significa infatti "misero". La parola inglese piu' simile a "misero" (sia in senso monetario che "metafisico") è probabilmente il semplice "poor".
